Rough Terrain Telescopic Handler

Duration: 5 day course for novice trainee’s
3 day course for existing operators
1 day refresher training course (Please note: proof of experience or training must be provided)
2 day conversion training course for certificated operators who require to operator both lift trucksMaximum of 3 delegates per course
Objectives:
To teach the basic skill requirements and associated job safety knowledge to operators of telescopic handlers, (Variable Reach Rough Terrain Lift Trucks), standard lift height and high lift.

To provide specific job training in both related job safety knowledge and practical skill applications for these types of machines.
At the course end successful delegates should be able to operate their machines both safely and efficiently.

  • LOLER 1998 (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations)
  • Introduction to the fork truck, controls and instruments
  • Starting, moving, steering and stopping the fork truck
  • Steering
  • Hydraulic System.
  • Pre-shift Inspection.
  • Refuelling Procedures
  • Weight Assessment
  • Handling unladen and laden pallets
  • Driving on / off Ram
  • Vehicle Loading and Unloading
  • Testing

Additional Information: On successful completion of this course candidates will be awarded the RTITB certificate of competence and their name will be entered on the National Operators Registration Scheme
